Cannot Download JAD

JAD is downloaded using an semi-automated procedure, if you have problems installing the program it could be caused by one of the following:

  • Make sure you are connected to the Internet.
  • Make sure you have the Java Runtime installed (Windows users only), see below.
Note: Once you have downloaded JAD, you do not have to be connected to the Internet to run JAD. JAD may attempt to connect to the Internet to check for updates.

Downloading JRE / Web Start

Web Start is an installation program used to deliver JAD. The benefit of this is that you can receive minor updates and features automatically over the Internet. Webstart is included in Mac OSX 10.1 and later and on most new Windows versions.  If you do not have Java Webstart, you can get a version from JAVA .

Problems Launching JAD

Error launching JADIf JAD fails to run with the message "Unable to launch Jorgensen Album Designer", such as in the diagram on the right, then press the Details button and send all the details to Technical Support. We can fix the issue more quickly if the messages from all tabs (General, Launch File, Exception, Wrapped Exception, Console) are included in this report.
