Album Cover
Cover Attributes
The appearance of the cover has a large impact on the overall impression of the final album. Different cover materials, binding, cover inlay photos can all be configured with the JAD.
Cover Materials
To set the cover materials for an album, select Album->Album Properties and choose the Cover tab. This cover dialogue is shown in Figure 1, and allows the following options to be set:
- Cover Material Type
- Cover Material Colour
- Binding Material Type and Colour - if applicable
- Cover Corner Protectors (Metal) - if applicable
The options available will depend on the type of album you are working with. Some additional rules exist, pertaining to combinations of options (e.g. Wood Veneer cover cannot have corner protectors). The system will ensure you cannot choose these illegal combinations.

Cover Inlay
The cover can contain photos in a similar way as a mat. This optional cover inlay is modeled in the same way as a custom mat, only the cover is usually slightly larger than the corresponding mats.
To use an existing mat as the template for the cover inlay, simply drag the mat from the Mat Selector to the cover page on the Album View. It can then be modified to correct for the cover being a different size.
To edit the cover inlay, select Album->Edit Cover Inlay and the cover inlay will be loaded in the Custom Mat Editor.
Photo Cover / Acrylic Photo Cover
Photo covers
These are simply a regular photo that has been laminated and adhered to the cover of an album. These can be created in JAD in the same way as an Inlay, via the Custom Mat Editor. JAD will automatically allow for any overlap needed to produce the print
Acrylic Photo Cover
The same as a Photo Cover, except the photo is adhered to the reverse of the clear Acrylic using a special adhesive.
