Requirements

Operating System 

The required operating system environment is one which supports the Java Runtime Environment (JRE) version 1.4 or greater. Supported operating systems include:

• Windows XP & Vista
• OS X (10.4 and upwards)
  Macintosh may work but at the time of release, this was the latest version JAD was tested on. (if using Internet Explorer on Macintosh, it must be version 5.2 or greater)

Minimum Hardware

Processor > 300 MHz
Memory > 1 Gb RAM
Disk Space > 250 Mb Free

Cache Management:

The latest version of JAD has a facility to clear the thumbnail cache of images created for each album, based on specified time.   This file can grow to an enormous size and may affect the performance of JAD.  It may be prudent to check this evry month and clear unwanted cache files.  You may also have JAD remind you periodically to do so.  Go to File>Preferences.

This process does not remove the album file or images, ONLY the thumbnails.  You can still acces the file and open it, though JAD will need to re-load the thumbnails just as it did when you first loaded the image files.
